The Moderating Effects of Gratitude on the Relationship between Parenting Stress and the Subjective Well-being of Mothers with Young Children

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating effects of gratitude on the relationship between parenting stress and the subjective well-being of mothers. The participates comprised 604 mothers. The results of this study were follows; First, the effect of parenting stress on the sub factors of subjective well-being was observed to be significant. Second, gratitude was significantly affected on the sub factors of subjective well-being. Lastly, life satisfaction and positive affect sub factors of subjective well-being were seen to have significant moderating effects on the relationship between parenting stress and gratitude among the mothers. This study verified the relationship between mother``s parenting stress and subjective well-being, and the moderating effect of gratitude, which tend to serve as a buffer between two variables.
